A/T on RVR is a bit slow to engage when cold, but works OK once its going.
It's done 110K and I'm not sure of it's history so I would like to give it a flush and an oil change

The Trans-axle is W4A33 3307
So far from the ASA (and why isn't that thread a sticky?) the parts I need are:

MD735572 OIL FILTER,A/T VALVE BODY
MD620524 GASKET,A/T VALVE BODY OIL FILTER
MD050317 GASKET,A/T OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG (D=14)
MD739243 GASKET,A/T OIL PAN

I can get Mitsubishi ATF SP3 from local dealer.

Are there any other bits I need?

Can these be sourced in Australia? (dealer say 60 days from Japan & many $$)

If I get them from the internet how can I be sure I get the right bits?

Get them through Motospec - They are Magna parts.
These are their retail prices. Cheaper at trade.
KPG-1900 PAN GASKET F4A-33 14 BOLT HOLES = $4.26 inc gst
KXF-1905 OIL FILTER F4A-33-1 ALL METAL = $13.93 inc gst
Cheers !

All TR Magna 4cyl parts. ;)

penngwyne Both those suggestions are perfect.

Depending on how much you want to spend, I would consider getting your box upgraded a bit, it's the best thing I ever did in my Auto when I owned it, used to drive so much smoother.

Thanks for that info Rockabilly
Much cheaper than the $97 quoted ex Japan for the filter
& $27 for the pan gasket (Yes that's what they said)

MattL what sort of upgrade did you have done?
What sort of work / dolars are we talking here?

I did whatever Rockabilly suggested I do, he did my build and I would consider him to be the Authority on 4G Auto's. EVLJOE runs 9.3's because of a solid well built auto from Rockabilly :)

Well that's another job off the list.
Seems to work a bit better in the morning.
ATF was starting to turn orange and there were some metal bits on the magnet in the oil pan so maybe I've done this at the right time?

Couldn't get the Magna parts. Would you believe none in Australia, so had to go AM as Rockabilly suggested.
We managed to find an original pan gasket as my mech hates the cork ones

Metal bits on the magnets in your RVR auto is usualy because the washers/spacers in the centre diff have scored.
If the metal bits are very small, the washers/spacers are only just starting to score.
If the metal bits are bigger than match heads, the washers/spacers are shot & the gears are hitting the housing.
I have come accross this before in RVR autos only & VR4 autos don't suffer from this.
My guess is VR4 auto washers/spacers were hardened by a good company back in their day for Mitsu & some **** of a
company is now doing the hardening & they are not as hard
I was told by ABC bearings near me, that bearing spacers would have a much harder surface, but I haven't taken one
over to them to see what they have that matches ours.
You won't hear this prob tho. If you remove the sump later & find bigger bits of metal, I could send you a VR4 centre
diff that your mechanic could swap over. I swapped a VR4 one into Matt's auto when the previous owner's died.
You couldn't hear the prob in it, but when I stripped it, it had mega metal bits in it. So the housing was too F'd inside.
Miodrag has VR4 washers/spacers in his RVR centre diff just incase. My centre diff is welded, so I'll never have that prob.
Cheers !
