Ran a hone on the bores, as they were in v. good cond., new mahle rings, new ACL race mains, new ACL race rods, ARP rod bolts, bearings were greased when assembled. All torqued to spec.
Did the dickhead mechanics you took it to damage anything when they were trying to turn it over with the stuff in the sump ie my PM's, did they pack the oil pump or gain oil pressure before starting the engine? Did they take everything out of the sump?
I really feel for ya mate, all I can say is I built that bottom end like my others at work, and they are fine. The workshop you took it to is amazingly shit as per exchanged PM's and calls. Obviously there is no warranty with forum parts, even if there was I would void the warranty due to the quality of workmanship in that workshop you took it too. Nothing was left loose, but even then a Mechanic always checks bolts are tight/torqued before final assembly. Did they bore it more(ie piston slap)? Did they run it with no oil pressure? Did they pack the oil pump or prime it before starting? Is the oil pump in correct phase? Did they put in the oil pump balance shaft(loss of oil pressure)
Like I said above, I really feel for ya, but either way the engine has to come out again. If the fault is mine (we all make mistakes) I sincerely apologise. I'll do my best to help you if I can.
