Hey guys just wondering if anyone could give me some help? My CB gsr has got no spark i have changed the coils and spark plugs, tested the wireing to the computer changed the ecu. but im gona putit into anothe car to rule that out for once and all. I have been told maybe the CAS but it still squirts fuel in. Im going to test the P.T.R. Ive got T04garret giveing me a hand but we have sort of run out of ideas apart from just changing everything thats involved in the spark system. any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. p.s its got a Vr4 Motor in it thought I better put that in Cheers Paul.

check ecu port and the pins are tight not loose creating bad connection, I had that problem.

i presume you have checked the ignitor also?, swap ecu's maybe if you can try someone elses? could still be the CAS. swap and check if poossible.

Hey bro, I had a problem like this one as well. Except in my case I noticed that the coils were burning up but not producing any spark. It turned out that the earth wire from the ecu to the chassis had came loose and it really messed things up.

Otherwise, I'd suggest checking the crank shaft position sensor down at the bottom of your engine.

Yea ive been told to check the earth wire by glen as well aye craig maybe they didnt put it back on when they did the gear box I will check tomorrow. Im also in the mist of soldering all those other dodgy wires by the ecu. cause a couple pulled out haha they were only twisted together probly another mikey special haha. but yea my mates trying my ecu in his vr4 so hopefully that rules it out. oh and ive got the double A batterys like you asked craig. just hopefully we can get it running this weekend.:)

it might be ive heard of a cas having no spark but it had injector pulse on a vr commodore but ive never heard of it on a lancer but all could be possible

id be definetly checking earth wiring, every wiring harness connector because there could be something else not connected up that is causing it too give no spark

in failing that check diagnostic codes

maybe check too see what voltages each wiring connector is receiving in the igntion system and see if a connector isnt get the correct amount of voltage

if that doesnt help maybe remove ECU from the car and pull apart making sure everything goes back together the same way and see if a capacitor is leaking or if theres anything wrong with the ecu

changed the ECU today and made no difference still no spark. Found that the main earth wasnt on so I bolted that back up and tryed again and still no good:( im just starting to think to take it to a auto sparky but i havnt tryed the CAS yet so I should probly replace that and see what happens before i take it to a sparky. ive got about 1500buks would that be enough for a sparky to fix it?

1500 is plenty for an auto sparky mate....they should be able to sort u out for alot less than that.

Im in perth bro. Well im going to try replaceing the CAS so if any one who knows of anyone or has got a pre 1990 Vr4 CAS i would like to hear from you lol. Its just strange how we have checked pretty much everything but we still cant find the problem.

chur bro will do aye. I will also put up a post for another loom too. So the cas i need is a pre 1990 aye? Oh and hey sorry for bothering you so much with my car craig. ive run out of credit on my fone haha
