As the topic states,
does anyone have any ideas for a cruise next month?

Lawrence mentioned a run down to Portsea, stopping for a pub meal, which doesnt sound like a bad idea to me!

Another option could be the Great Ocean Road, but traffic could be an issue along there, but still a long drive nonetheless.

I think a trip to Tassie on the Spirit and some cruising around Tasmania would be the ultimate, but would obviously need more than 3 weeks planning and alot of extra cash.

A previous one I've been on went up to Mt. Macedona, where there's a nice restaurant at the top. I might try to find the map from that one.

Anyway, post your ideas!
Mat :)

Im in for that- as long as we get to go up Arthurs seat on the way back!

And this time we have someone who is in charge and knows what they're doing *cough* dan *cough* lorrie*

Jstyle- we need you bro, get your A into G- your the cruise man!!

and what happened to the T4G events person? Caramel GSR? Last post was the 23rd of december, and the one before that was in october? :?

We certainly need more organisiation on our cruises, or the new people wont be coming back.

yeah errrrrm!
sorry bout that........ not really my fault though. It wasnt that bad was it? (apart from leaving AFAS way to late :? )

I think he's referring to all the side-of-the-road stops.

Unfortunately, with a cruise with 20 odd cars people get stuck in the traffic.

We had to stop to let everyone catch up.

And i'm sorry about the initial direction, I was going to go the way I -knew- to the highway... seeing as i'm not from Melbourne and all.

But we all got there and in one piece. We also didn't get lost and it was relatively straightforward.

----

I think if we goto portsea we do the seat run on the way -down-, that way we can talk about it over dinner (and we don't get motion sick with full stomachs).

But if we go south, need a new meet point I think? Otherwise most members are driving NORTH to afas and then back past where they started etc.

Any ideas?

ok....you could of been polite and said it in a different way there mate. or is that your idea of tryna be a clown ?

relax maaaaaaaate

portsea is a good idea.... as there is still some spirited roads along the back way.

so we can go the normal way down and take the back way home (or vice versa) :p

haha
its only 8 hours because of the drive in movies
its a double session

we could probably skip it though and drive home instead

oh
and as for photos

the carpark for la porchetta is quite big, and by the time we get there... around 7pm, the sun should be in a good place for photos

who's up for a Sunday March 12th afternoon/evening cruise.
Meet somewhere along the beach, maybe Elwood/Brighton or somewhere like that at about 3:30 for a 4:30pm departure. Arrive in Portsea roughly 6:00pm-ish in time for dinner.
