Howdy all...
I have a quick question about how my car idles...
Basically I have disconnected my idle control valve as its the good Mitsubishi stepper motor type that always dies.
I adjusted the cars idle screw so that the car idles at 800rpm (this was done on a 30deg - 35deg day)
Now the car idled fine, air con on and the revs would drop to 750rpm, drove nice, never hesitated or carried on etc etc
As the outside temp goes down the idle comes up to the extent that on a 20 deg day the car will idle at 1500rpm.
The car is running a Motec and the air temp compensation tables have all been configured, thinking that they might be slightly wrong I put the air temp compensation table all to 0% just to see what would happen, and the exact same idle issue happened.
Next thing I tried was spraying CRC around the inlet manifold while the car was running to see if there were any air leaks, but none were to be found
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Could it be the tune some how? (I have also changed the timing and fuel around idle to see if it helped but no luck there either)
This has been an issue for quite some time and no one that i have spoken to knows, so trying the forums is my final hope
Thank you in advance
Jason
