wow :) :) I wouldnt mind one, still i dont know, i love evo3 shape :) and evo9 shape, eh.. decisions.

i want to see one of these on the car cruise one day :)

They're pretty common up around here, they met with marginal success but the maint. is terrible for parts and labor, the cars break down like CRAZY and the cost for parts is also CRAZY. When built correctly they are quite formiddable though, albeit heavy as hell!

There's a thread on 3si about maintenance... one of the guys has a ferrari 355 spyder and a 96 3000GT VR4 MR

He totalled up a bunch of invoices and the 3kgt VR4 MR (AKA GTO), actually cost more to repair than his ferrari even when the ferrari was done at the dealership.

That's one expensive mother to fix.

I'll see if I can dig up the thread.

WOW!
thats not good..
i was planning on getting one in the future for a daily driver...

are they that prone to breakage?

thats a sexy looking car!!!!! :D
a mate in LA had a 3000GT VR4 for a while, he didnt have a bad word to say about it, he loved the thing!

one of the chicks at school's parent's had one. her old man reckons it was reliable as.. went hard - yeah it was a bit heavy, but still

that bitch was driving it on her l's

I can see y the cost of working on the car would be a fair amount look how much space is left in the engine bay! Drop a screwdriver down there and it would be lost to the world.

lols :)

remember theres a GT and theres a GTO :)

3000GT is mitsubishi's designation for the Mitsubishi GTO in AMERICA and America alone.

The reason being that the people who do trademarks in America wouldn't allow mitsubishi to call it the GTO because Pontiac had a legally binding copyright on "GTO" as a model name.

The car's are IDENTICAL.

Baz, there's a GTO down here in ballarat that was off the road for six years because it broke the 6-speed getrag. It cost just clear of 9000 dollars after parts and labour to rebuild it. GTO's break gearboxes like VR4's break 2nd gear synchro's.

You can only get parts from Getrag themselves, can't source them from anywhere else and they're F'N expensive.

Plus being a Getrag, the box is impossibly complicated and getting the box outta a GTO you gotta lift the whole engine out first.
