Hey guys I've noticed lately that when loaded up and accelerating in 2nd I get a hesitation or miss this will also present in the higher gears but I see it most in 2nd because that's what I can use on the street.

It sound a lot like anti lag when it happens. I've bought new plugs to replace the iridiums I am currently using what should be my next point of attack leads are 20k kms old.

Next on the list is coilpack and ignitor..if not afm.
Swap each of the above with a known working unit one at a time to eliminate the faulty item.

"Anti-lag" Sounds like plugs.

NKG's and a .6 gap. $16.00 to eliminate one cause, good economy and a spare set of plugs if it's not the issue.

shame ya not in Melb or ya could of used my spare parts to figure out whats wrong, leads, ignitor, coils, ecu, etc

What plugs u using? Close the gap to .6

they're the same as the manufacture recommended plug with the one minor difference of have 2 earth electrodes

atm i'm running some bosh iridiums which i think may have a 1.1 gap on them you can't regap iridiums so thus why I'm starting with plugs.

anyone got or know of where i can get the transistor unit loom plug and perhaps a cas loom plug?

the transitor plug appears to have a rusty pin I've cleaned it but as wee all know new is better and the cas plug is alittle cracked so wouldn't hurt to replace them

Bosch Iridiums are a waste of time in a boosted car, the spark gets blown out. I went through this not too long ago.

as i beleive i am experiencing. well plug gap was defs up around 1.1mm could get a .702 and a .352 feeler gauge in the gap. can't test to see if that solved it until maybe tuesday as i have taken the hubs off to replace the bearings which are 100% rooted. kinda annoyed with myself i busted a perfectly good ball joint boot

yea im another one who thought the Bosch's look the goods but later found out they were shit, and i got that part of a loom if ya wanna borrow it, can also lend ya a coil and ignitor, pm me if ya interested

Those twin ground are good for LPG and stock cars, useless on Turbo cars. Some Audi's come out with a 4 ground on the spark plug, swap to normal plugs and they run smoother.

Normal NGK's are fine, Evo guys run BPR7/8's on 400kw+ and no issues, with COP kit they run between .5-.75 gap

And you can re gap Iridium's, if you know how to, but i'd honestly just go back to normal NGK's

I've tried a both Bosch and ngk iridiums and don't rate them. Went back to the copper ngk's and never had an issue. Gapped to .675

Iv just been through this on our 9, Iridiums are shit on waste spark and go alot better with COP, you have to make them work on evo 9's because you cant get a copper plug. 4g93 are a bit shit because you have to run the smaller hex head plugs and when you start making big power its really hard to get a plug colder than 7's.

When you start running big power the plug cannot dissipate the heat quick enough and it acts like a glow plug and you get pre ignition. If you run a too colder plug then the opposite happens and the plug doesn't get hot enough to prevent fouling. As the number on an NGK plug goes up the heat range goes down, so a bkr6es is hotter than a bkr7es.
