Ignition issue?

Help Support 4GTuner:

Hey guys I've noticed lately that when loaded up and accelerating in 2nd I get a hesitation or miss this will also present in the higher gears but I see it most in 2nd because that's what I can use on the street.

It sound a lot like anti lag when it happens. I've bought new plugs to replace the iridiums I am currently using what should be my next point of attack leads are 20k kms old.

Is it like a stuttering, not jarring but definitely noticeable when you're accelerating 'enthusiastically' in second (and other gears)? My 93t has this problem too, can't quite figure it out though. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

nah for me it's a hesitation depending on how far up it i am (how far to the floor i have the accelerator) it's either non existent feels like a clutch slipping (lack of power) or a full blown rally-car anti-lag system backfiring bouncing of the limiter sound when in full blown bang bang bang there is no apparent lack of power still pulls hard.

Yes, clutch slipping, that's what it feels like. I'm pretty sure we're both experiencing the same problem, now to find a solution

well start with the obvious change your plugs leads then coils if that don't solve it change ignitor transitor unit then cas. thats everything that can control your issue bar the ecu

issue appear to be sorted plug gaps were way to wide so not sparking when they should. new wheel bearing as well so it doesn't sound like im driving a grinder

I had the same issue running a gsr engine with a gti loom, without the injector resistor pack the car overfuels and sounds like antilag...
