i'm not to sure about the number but didn't some evo's came out with maf like that(shorter then 055 or 609)????

this one is an odd one out cant find any info on it.....

609 - evo maf
449 - gsr maf

i've got a 789 maf. i got it off a v6 magna i think....is this the same as the evo maf? how would i go about fittin it to the vr4 RS j spec ecu?

you got the maf from the newer magnas and they are smaller then evo and they flow less so what you have to do is get a maf from like 94-95 6 cylinder magna with 055 magna as they are the same as evo609

609 and 055 etc are not the part numbers

the part number is the e5t number

well they not the part numbers but this what you look at to determine what afm it is, it just makes it easier:) with 3 numbers

055 maf - 91-95 magna & verada (4 & 6 cylinder)
also on some early tritons and pajero's

609 maf - evo's and RVR

What I would like to kno is if they are the same why do they have a different Number?
Can you just use either? doesnt make any differnece whatsoever?
Also it has been said they are a good upgrade on the GSR also, if it is fitted will it change anything other than less resrtiction of airflow? Like will the computer just receive the same signal but in the end more air can flow thru easier?
