hey guys
just wondering what injectors everybody is using and what power are they making?

i've been suggested to go to 1000cc...
780's are supposably not big enough for 40psi?!?!??....

also with fuel pump, the walbro is only good for 550hp at the wheels..
any other recommendations?..
i've been advised an aeromotive external with a fuel cell ..

thanks guys..
prices would be good also if you know where i can get these items..

another note.. anybody running staged injection (2nd set of injectors)??
i've got 450cc's spare.. i could use them i guess.

780cc will be good for about 350kw.

id probably recommend getting some 1000cc's as that is what i will probably be getting.

regarding fuel pumps

run 2 bosch 044 in sequence with a surge tank.

I was intending 255HP to be read as 255 High Pressure, this is the way I've often seen the Walbro pumps referred to before. Their 255 pump comes in two versions, a standard and HP. I believe the only difference is in the pressure setting on the outlet valve on the Walbro pump. This means the pump is able to keep up enough pressure to counteract high manifold pressures in turbo applications.

Haven't read that web site for a few years, I probably would have been better writing HP255 LPH, I'll try and be more accurate in future.

Speaking of fuel pumps and injectors...I'm actually upgrading the ones on the rally car at the moment.

However, due to tight restraints on boost (due to limitation in modification in production class) I was wondering what you guys would advise if I was running around 14psi. The max I can run is 15 in my class but most guys settle for 14.

What injectors and fuel pump would you recommend and do you know anyone selling these?

i was running 15psi on my 450cc with the stock pump rewired
with the tdo5 14b...

a friend is running 17psi on 510cc injectors with stock pump also...

fuel pressure at stock level

I'm not sure if this is possible....

But can a 4G63 run a mech fuel pump... I know alot of super high powered V8s still stick with mech fuel pumps......

Friend of mine uses 1000cc injectors controlled by a MT8 Microtech and gets ~350km from a tank in a GSR Lancer which i thought wasn't too bad.

All comes down to the tuning!

Rough calculation of AT THE CRANK kilowatt potential, based on injector size: (taken from Martin Donnon, Zoom 88, page 80)

(injector size(cc) / 10.6) x 2 = horsepower injector will support

convert to kilowatts: divide by 1.34

multiply by number of injectors.

Example 1: 450cc

(450/10.6)x2 = 84.9hp
84.9/1.34 = 63.35kw
63.35x4=250.3kw AT THE CRANK

Example 2: 550cc

(550/10.6)x2 = 103.7hp
103.7/1.34 = 77.3kw
77.3x4 = 309kw AT THE CRANK

Example 3: 780cc

(780/10.6)x2 = 147.1hp
147.1/1.34 = 110.2kw
110.2x4 = 440kw AT THE CRANK

Example 4: 1000cc

(1000/10.6)x2 = 188.6hp
188.6/1.34 = 140.7kw
140.7x4 = 562kw AT THE CRANK
