If I get a new set of injectors, I know how much they flow, and the ohms, do I need to know the specific deadtime of them to tune it right?

Theres a company selling Siemens injectors on ebay (link). I asked them if they have the specific information, but they don't have it available.

Will it be a problem?

those siemen injectors are a 14mm oring compared to ours which are an 11mm oring.. you can use those injectors but you will need to machine them down to fit.. if your handy on a lathe its about a 20min job.

they are a 'great' spray pattern using the new 'disc' type technology instead of a the single pintle as seen in pre 1996 cars.

Do I machine the injectors or the fuel rail?
Can Powerflow do it?

yeah i know i should
but im trying to be cheap

lol

a set of sard 800's from rhdjapan.com should be around 499 landed, is that a decent price?

Some of the guys on evolutionoz have used them before and from memory they were happy with the service. Sorry couldn't find the particular thread to give you, hope this helps.

which ones do i buy?

The first set look right... :?

fuel rails i think are still $240, i dont work there anymore.. by personal choice.

you need to modify the injectors, machine them down to 11m. you cannot machine the stock fuel rail from my knowledge!

Sard injectors are good injectors and if you dont care about fine tuning or tuning for fuel economy then they are perfect for what you need. Sard injectors are 1980's technology with the old single pintle style injector.

For a circuit car that requires fine tuning an awesome spray pattern you would b hard pressed to pick Sards over Siemens. Siemens/Lucas and other names have been releasing these 'disc' style injectors which have a better spray pattern. More efficent, more reliable and more tuneable.

Im not trying to sway you either way cos really it doesnt matter to me what you go. But if your going to run a motec you will find that it will run better with the siemens over the sards for the fact that it has newer style technology and the motec can take advantage of that with its broad range of tuning parametres.

seriously?

i thought SARD was good, they had that twin nozzle thing for a good spray pattern

i really don't want to start machining down injectors to make them fit

I would be interested to know what the factory quoted deadtime is for the 800cc SARD's. With my 800cc SARD's Dave just tuned the dead time in by adjusting the dead times until a smooth idle and consistent A/F ratio was archived while idling.

I found this on evom about the SARD 720s
injector dead time 0.96ms @ 3.05 kg/cm2 , 14.0 volts

I'm guessing it will be different to the 800's, but I guess it's a starting point of some sort

This is the whole post, maybe someone can make better sense of it than I could
I have some information.
Japanease guys give this to me long time ago.

DENSO, SARD, GREDDY, HKS injector parts no.195500-0830

impedance 2.3 ohm

pressure (kg/cm2) / volume (cc)
2.55 / 680
3.05 / 750
3.55 / 820

injector dead time 0.96ms @ 3.05 kg/cm2 , 14.0 volts

Im running Sards 800 injectors with Wolf V500 and i dont have a problem with fine tuning. They have a good spray pattern, its like any injector it can be heavy on fuel if u put your foot down.im happy with them.

i've only seen a U.S place sell the 1000's...

I tell you what taco..
get a set of 1000cc's and ill swap ya plus cash for my 800cc's

=)

i believe the 800cc down have twin outlets

the 1000cc's have a single outlet

twin outlets is still old technology..

if i had a test bench i would show you what sort of spray pattern and sard makes compared to a disc style injector... but at the end of the day if your not doing serious serious racing sards are still a great injector to havE!

sard 1000cc injectors you will not find cheap.. they are about $250 each.. you wont need anything above 800cc unless you wanna make near the 350+ kw mark.

machining the tops of the injectors down is a common practice in todays industy.. everyone does it and its onyl machining the excess plastic.. so it doesnt effect the body in any other way.
