Hey guys,

I need to change my tie rods in my EVO 3.

Has anyone done this themselves before and if so, have you had any luck finding
a proper inner tie rod tool for the job that fits the tie rod?

Having a bit of trouble trying to locate a tool.

If anyone knows that would be great.

Thanks Sam.

Lol..... You can either leave the nut on close to the end of thread and bash it hard and pray or you you could try and pm jack as I recall him either hiding one or buying something that works well. Me? Well I went for option one and jacked the bastard up and down, it eventually came out.... Best of luck.

if you taliking about getting the ball joint loose just bash the lca on the horozontal bolt goes this way | hit the lca this way <-

Hah when i said hammer didnt mean hitting tie rod.. Actually hit the part/arm the tie rod goes into hit it in the right spot/hard enough and the tie rod will pop right out...

He talking about the inner joint. On the rack.
The best tool for the outer tie rod is:
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/291083674723
But they are about $30 from malz or supercheap. No banging with hammers, no split boots. Very professional.

The inner is just a locknut and a couple of flats on the ball end isnt it? Last one I did was on a outback. Back off the locknut and undo the tierod. I may have pulled the whole rack out and used the vice to hold something?
It might have lock washers on the inner end as well. Straighten them out before you start

Ahh nice now know what your talking about.. Take back my hammer comments ;) shit gets serious in here when giving poor advice
