heres the deal..
i got full comp insurance and was in an accident that was not my fault but the guy who was involved did a runner on me..
when the car was insured i only told them about rims, lowered, exhaust, boost controller.. i did not tell them about the intercooler or the apexi afc.
do they search my car completly for every single modification?
i only damaged my body so i'm not quite sure i should call my insurance company.. will they cover it? thanks..

All it takes if 1 little thing that makes your car unroadworthy that will void your claim.

I had this a few years ago back in NZ when I went to claim after someone went up my ass, they found my car was 10mm lower than the legal limit, thus they had the right to dismiss my claim. I got so pissed off, because I was paying insurance premiums for nothing. I was "turning" as you'd say.

I've never had insurance since, its simply not worth it.

How bad is the damage to your car? What happened? Pics?

hrm i only have 3rd party, but i think i might tell my insurance company that the car has wheel/exhaust/sports suspension.

Oh i'm sorry your majesty but since you've never had aussie insurance perhaps you'd like to yield to the voice of experience.

Or perhaps the insurance assessors never come look at your car because they don't have to pay for it. They only have to pay for the one you hit.

Dunno if anyones knows - or is interested - but i just insured my car with
Just Cars insurance. As long as your mods are legal and roadworthy they will insure it no worries - eg. they are fine with me putting a vr4 into my lancer, lowering it, ecu, intercooler, the works. They have agreed value as long as you have receipts. And the premiums are $300 less than what i was paying with my previous insurer for my stock shita CE Lancer GLi (1.5L NA).

Give them a call - 13 13 26 - sorry if this sounds like advertising/spam but i think its a good deal for car enthusiasts (as no one else - including Shannons - would touch me)

thats the worst of the damage right there..

should i just cover that up with some cloth or some sort of board? i dont want to pull everything out as it will be too much headaches..

also i got a pod filter.. anyone got a stock gsr box i can borrow? or will it be okay?

it was his fault but the bastard did a runner.. his had some damage too so ive been to all the local panel beaters and notified them if they have seen a dark colour holden with some minor front end damage..

as for parts im looking for a stock gsr airbox, and that should be enough for me to claim my insurance..

DAMN ! saw ya on princess hway last friday and the car was looking sweet! wanted to bring my car out this week to give ya a lil run but dont think its gonna happen ey. there are tricks you can do for insurance like i did to mine. my rear 1/4 driver side was messed up didnt want to take it thru insurance.long sotry but in the end i got him to give me a full respray on top didnt cost me a thing if u want pm me for more details and i can tell you how to do it .
