I just got a 3 inch intake made for my car. I got it made with no port for the blowby. I blocked it off while driving it home and put the catch can in.

However this morning Driving when i got to work the Oilcap had blown up and oil had sprayed eveyrhwere.

Where is this pressure coming from??

do you have any breathers or something like that on the head/pvc plug, if not that is probly where it is coming from, hence why they had breather hoses as factory.

i don't know if i am anywhere near what it could be, but its a suggestion

well thats the thing, I did plug the one that goes to the intake pipe. But i only did it so i could ge tthe car home to put the catch can in. But now that that pipe is going to the catch can It shouldn't have a pressure issue should it?

there is 2 breather hoses, 1 goes from the side of the valve cover to the intake hose, the other goes from the back of the valve cover to the intake manifold, if you have a loop that goes:
side of valve cover - catch can - back of valve cover, with no breathers, then i would imagine you have created a completley sealed thing, and as such the oil pressure will just keep rising until it blows the hoses to the catch can, blows the dipstick out of the hole, or in your case the oil cap,

but again, i could be a long way from the money

Here is a diagram that I... umm borrowed from galantvr4.org.

This is the way that it should be set up Cade! :)

Keep in mind that the image probably relies on you having a vented catch can.

I don't have a vented catch can, what now?

leave the PCV line alone.

run one hose from the LHS fitting (Rocker cover) to the catch can, and then a hose from the catch can back into the intake (after the AFM)

Thst the legal way to do it anyway.

I tried doing mine like in Tims diagram but it made my car idle a bit wierd so i changed it back.

gsrsol, ur way is fine, but doesn't solve the problem of oil fumes contaminating the air intake lowering the octane level, which is the whole purpose of putting a catch can in, or so i thought

thanks for backin me up tim, i thought i was right, but wasn't sure

This is how my setup is at the moment.

Have replaced my stupid ralliart oil cap with the stock one because it blew off 5 times :(

Hoping to get some braided cable put on and the intake plugged tomorrow.

Does it matter that the catch can is below the cam cover?

And should my car not idle very well now?

then there souldn't be a problem
do you have an oil gauge?
what oil are you using?

try and pull undo the pcv valve and plumb that to your catch can also with a barb in place (take the pcv valve to bunnings and match up the thread, they will have one) and block off the inlet manifold plug..

see how it goes there..
