I'm looking for rods to build turbo 4g93 based on N/A.
I tried to get original parts (from GSR) but no service in Poland cant help me. They told me 4g93T doesn't exist : P.

On e bay I found this ones:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Conrods-MITSUBISHI-4G93-GSR-connecting-rods-pleuel-/400178385719?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2c7d9337

I dont whant to make Monster car, need something stronger than my N/A rods. (less than250HP thats all i want)
What do you think? Are they worth of their price?

Also need lower compression pistons - Forged cost a lot, and they are made on special order. Maybe someone new where i can look for something in between
My N/A pistons and Forged for Turbo.

Thats how i see my engine :
My standard N/A Block
Crankshaft from 1.8 GDI (in this moment engine its runing on it)
head and all top from GSR + TD04 L13 (already got it)
Arp Studs for Head (12mm form 4g63)
Hks SSQV blow off (no airflow), Mocal oil cooler
2.5" exhaust + custom made exhaust manifold
Engine management 1.8N/A Ecu + Piggy back
standard gauges: EGT+Boost+AFR

What do you think?

those rods, are the typical chinese rods or wherever their made...their good for what they are... should see you for 400hp...

personally, i would go two ways either - forged pistonswith no dish.. or a very good quallity flat top piston ie genuine 4g93 sohc
it will leave you with a very healthy 10-1 comp ratio, which will greatly reduce spool time, and make you turbo work less as you will achive better volumetric efficiency
alot of people suggest to lower comp ratios and make decompressed slugs, but with a good tuner a small turbo and healthy comp ratio you will have a very exciting engine

Pistons in 1.8 SOHC and DOHC are the same.
Dohc have a 10,5 sohc 10,0 but if you put dohc head on sohc block you will have GTi (friend after rod bearing failure in 4g93dohc rebuild that engine using block and internals form SOHC)
More pistons in 1.6 and 1.8 are the same - tested.

what about this:

Another idea its to build turbo engine using stronger rods and serial pistons but give higher gasket to reduce compression (2 normal metal gasets 0,2mm and between metal divider (laser cut) )
I dont whant to blow up my engine :) One guy in poland build 4g92 turbo - sohc engine no mods 10.0 compression + turbo only piggy back to increase fuel ratio but how long it will run?

no you have Sohc flat tops, Dohc slight raised comp... and Dohc HI-comp
put the flat tops in...
NOOOO- no thicker headgasket or double gasket ....research 'squishband area'

at 10-1 comp with 8psi of boost will give you better results than 8.5-1 comp with 15psi of boost (and more comp makes it drive better off boost)
look, do whatever you want, to be honnest its not my engine so i dont give 2c what you put in it and how you run it, but ill give you the best possible information i have so you can make the decision.

just think of this... how many cars are out there succesfully running a bolt on turbo kit??? its only untill people start putting in more boost than what the motor can handle that they blow....

and if your mate in poland fucked his motor i would say he's not telling the full story, there is always a reason for motor failure, then the reason you tell everybody it happened
