Hi Guys,

Im taking off to europe soon and will be staying with a mate while Im over there.

They've asked for a bottle of Agwa (not sure if you guys are familiar with it) to be brought over and I was just wondering....

According to the Aus travel site you cant take anything over 100ml from duty free on the plane..... (so why sell bottles of liquor at the airport?) Is it legal to put a bottle in my check in luggage?? (padded of course....)

I dont think Agwa is available there hence why I cant buy it when I get off the plane.

Anyone had similar experience or has been in this situation??

the 100ml rule is for carry on only and it has to be in a bag

you can still put it in your luggage i believe

ya. luggage is fine, just carry on is the issue,

and 100ml is the max you can take thru security so once you are thru you can buy stuff, aside from if you have a stopover/fuel stop etc as you will go outside security then back in, also in hong kong when i went thru they checked you again at the plane and you could not buy anything there,

everywhere is slightly different so best bet is to buy it before you leave and pack it inside your luggage in a very well padded place

I was the same at Hong Kong- if you are flying into Aus or U.S they wont let you take anything. I flew out of Melb to Thailand recently and took some booze from duty free directly onto the plane, so you should be fine.

yeah hong kong are pricks.. I bought a bottle of water before boarding and they wouldn't let me take it on the plane.
Once passed security/customs in melbourne i am pretty sure you can by alchohol and take it on the plane with you. They will tape the bag up i think so you should be ok.

Thanks guys. I have another problem which is the Agwa itself made from coca leaves. Im wondering if sniffer dogs will pick it up and ill get hauled in for a cavity search or something :( ? Its not a drug or anything like it and its perfectly legal here. Ive emailed Agwa to ask about their import laws in europe

i dont think you will be able to put your duty free items into your luggage, cos you would have already checked in your luggage before going through to pick up your duty free items.

the 100ml law is about bringing your own liquids, eg. water, hairspray, toiletries onto the plane with you (carry on luggage)

when i went to thailand we bought 2 bottles of johnny black with us from duty free and it was fine.
