Hi all,

Thought I'd better follow some rules and introduce myself. I've been messing with cars since getting my licence more than 30 years ago (in some circles I may be classified as an "old fart").

The last 12 years I have been involved in the rally scene, starting off with Suzuki's GTi's and now playing around with EVO's. We have a full gravel spec EVO7 that we built up from a road GSR and we also have a very low km EVO9RS that we bought new from Ralliart a couple of years ago.

A while back I took one of my Suzuki's to the drags and ran a 14.9 (naturally aspirated) and now I am on my way to building something special that hopefully does a lot better next time I go to the drags. It is a hybrid mix of both my interests...a New Suzuki Swift with a 4G63T motor.

I am new to this site, but not new to EVO forums, hence I know a few members from Perth and over in the East.

P.S. The 30 post rule for selling things sucks... I have a heap of parts that I could share with everyone, but now I'll be forced to sell them on other forums until I rack up my post count.

welcome, i dont think its really the 30 post rule, its more to stop arrogant assholes from scamming the forums like many have.

Yeh, I know why the rules are there, but even if they are arrogant a$$holes selling something, then as long as "buyer beware" is applied, then members win.
I would rather have the opportunity to buy something off a new member than not to have the opportunity at all. Might be best to leave this for another discussion, another day.

sounds like the mitsi powered GTI is going to be alot of fun :)

I originally thought of using a GTi Suzuki, but I am using one of the New 2005 Swifts as a base.

I approve of this thread and/or project!:)

Should start a members rides build up thread in the members rides section;)

OH! I like the new swifts, was considering buying one at one stage :) A 4g powered one sounds very different, but in a good way! Welcome!

p.s. Post whore 30 post's, I'm sure you've got some great gear to sell!

Interesting!
Which 4g63 will you be using?
Welcome btw :)
I'm using a VR4 based engine and gearbox, converted to 2WD. I have had the engine in and made up 3 out of the four engine mounts. I am just waiting to get the mounts back from getting replaced with Polyurethane. The chassis rail needed a slight "notching" to make it fit, but apart from that, the driveshafts are the standard lengths and even fit into my Suzuki hubs!
I'll have to start a new thread when I get a chance.

wow that sounds awesome.
im going to start a prject soon to, a mazda 323 rwd 4g63.
and for keeping the driveshafts the normal length and having them fit into suzuki hubs must have been a godsend
def get a build thread up..

only thing, will it be fwd?
its bad enuf in a galant gsr turbo but in a swift which might weigh 300kg less and shit all wheelbase, it might get tricky to drive at times?
