For those of you that wanna try rallying there is an Intro Rally coming up soon. Your chance to get out in the forest and hang big skids all night!

You can do it in a standard road car with a fire exting. fristaid kit, mudflaps and bonnet restraint. Must be rego'd too.
You need a cams level2 license(about $50) and be a member of a cams carclub (about$50)

This rally uses some of the best rally roads in Vic. It is based out of Neerim Sth and runs through Noojee and Powelltown.

Only prob for some here will be you cant run a turbo4wd as a Novice(F). You are graded a novice till you finish 5 events then become a Rookie(E)

Although i have done a full year of Kahanacross (won the season) would this enable me to drive a awdTurbo ?

Ive just been told (will confirm) that the VR4 would be ok. Only for this rally, being an intro event. After that you couldnt keep using it in VCRS or VRC events untill you finished 5 events in a non turbo.

I will contact the organisers and check this for you to be sure. It'd be cool if youcould do it. Now you'll need to find a co-driver/navigator.

With Winton in the 28th, don't think ill make this one to compete (Always the next one).

Not actually a date change but my retardedness for putting it wrong in the first place.

Hope this hasn't put any one out.

Troy(WRCVR4) you could maybe still do this if ya keen.
I might be running now myself with a novice Navigator to be eligible.
Or could end up running as zero car again.

trev, were you the 0 car for this event last year?

there was plenty of action, a mate of mine put his rx7 down a big bank

we were there till day break getting him out?

I were 00, car was just plain white then, eli evans ran 0 in simons old wrx left hand drive beast. 0 is more fun, flat out, we had to stop n start a bit checking things are all in place, still fun though!

Would that be the gibsons rx7 that went awol. My mate did the repairs on it, main stuff anyway, i think they finished it off themselves. Unless there was another one as well......

I'm as good as entered, dropping entry form in tommorow (last day b4 ballot!) just last minute rush updating licenses n memberships.

Ive been offered up a nav already through a friend and feel a bit obliged.

Or are YOU looking for a Nav? If you can find someone you need to get entry in 2moro. Otherwise you can come up n service for me...............

no not gibsons, we fixed it our selves, it was a white one, i think it was the last stage, he was about 8 meters down a very steep bank, took us hours to get it out and then we blew the front diff in the land cruiser we were using to pull it out....great.....then we had to stop and pull the axles out of that to get it home too...in 2wd..

Field is over subscribed and my entry knocked back as not a novice.

All is not lost as i'm now running as Zero car. Still get to have a skid, get a free run and an early finish :wink:
 
UPDATE. RALLY CANCELLED

THIS RALLY HAS BEEN CANCELLED. For the meantime anyway, due to fire danger in the area. I will update this thread when more news comes to hand.
