Seriously i think this guy has gone overboard with his mods. I could make a VR-4 run into the 13.5 zone with half that shit.. For example.. watch DjB's car.. that thing will run 13.5 no problems once ive finished tweakin it :)

For example gavin (chaverz) with his old setup:

Jspec stock cooler
Exhaust
Pod
Boosted 14b
FPR

Ran 14.1 ...

I was going to post a reply in that thread but then i thought about it and if i made a reply i could gather that marty or chris or anyone who has supplied/built/custom made parts for that car would have a cry at me cos they would think im attacking their ego.

but like i've said before..
dont expect too much from a vr4..

i think they are over rated down the 1/4
too fat and heavy..

i think the times everybody expects are too low, i mean i should have run a 12 with my old setup.. ran a 13.4

john, you should have run 12's easy with your old setup.. but your ran 13.1

i think some freaks get lucky - eg ash / vr4rs

possibly marty's chips aren't as good as he thinks?!?!>.

or possibly, he cant drive?!?!

too many variables..
but honestly.. dont be surprised if anyone of us gets a 14 if we planned for a 13, or a 13 if we planned for a 12 etc

i'd be hoping it's not a daily driver..

surely that thing would suck the juice..

IMO its the sexyest car in NSW, pitty it cant be backed up with some decent times.......

I think baz is right, some people do get freakish cars, my mate ran a 12.7 on a 16g, even vr4rs can prove that theory, 12.2, stock engine and turbo- great effort....

perhaps its the way they were broken in when the rolled off the production line.....

You're holding a carrot in front of a donkeys face..... You have no idea how keen I am to drive my car with my new turbo setup.... Saying that my car might run a 13.5 is just the icing on the cake........

if your not doing 12's, theres something wrong, the injectors i think will be the only things holding you back, these things sure do suck the juice

if u plan on getting an ecu and run 15psi
you should be seeing most likely a slower mph (jon has cams/ new engine / 4bolt / weight reduction)

others with that turbo have run deep into the 11's in the US though

its really hard to tell..
you just gotta do it.. thats the only way
dyno figures dont mean shit.. driver ability is most important

honestly guys!.. i dont want to put a downer on things but it will take you quite a few track days to get the full potential of your package..

my estimate:
-stockies with exhaust / boost / fuel / intercooler
approx 14.0 to 15.0
(no ecu = fuel cut, no fuel cut requires less boost)

-above with ecu, high 13's - low 14's

-16g upgrade, exhaust / boost / fuel / intercooler / ecu
high 13's.. mid 13's


its a funny thing the vr4's, the more you mod.. the slower it goes sometimes!..

i'll be very happy to see a 12 for a team 4g member..

but you also have to remember, 13's aint slow
its very quick for street car...
 
well you can't put a damper on me baz :lol: 12's with 1bar and 3" zorst with a 14b

if i prove you right i can have your car right? :wink:

na i'll just be happy to run and get in the 14s somewhere...
i've heard of vr4s with same mods as above hit flat 15s!! i hope that's not going to happen to me! dil knows how i launch :lol:
 
I'll be VERY dissapointed if I dont crack a 12, even if my crunchy syncros and 3-bolt holds me back........
 
i'll go and do an 8 tomorrow just for you barry, bolt up the nos, put another engine in the boot, double the HP lol

my car when done should be good for 10's..
but i'll be happy with an 11..

i wont be surprised if i run a 12..

not a bad idea baz
maybe even a wooden spoon type of a trophy for those that have a higher spec turbo and get beaten by a "lower" spec turbo ie GT series gets beaten by a 16g etc..
