I've noticed that search function doesn't seem to work with 3 letters or less. While I know the reason will be to cause less stress on the server doing massive searches for smaller words... a lot of the jargon we use is not going to be searchable.

ie:
evo
log
vr4
ecm
ecu
rim
nut
cog

you get the idea... can this be rectified so we can at least use 3 letter search terms??

Yeah essentially it's not a problem with our forum, nor the forum software, it's MySQL itself (the database).

Not sure if this has been covered also, but I never seem to stay signed into this forum. Every time I come here I have to sign in again regardless of howmany times I've had the "remember me" box ticked.

It's been covered since Team4G started

Clear your cookies, clear your browsing cache (or Temporary Internet Files, etc). Should work a treat. B)

Since we couldn't get it to work with the default search I replaced it with google custom search (top-right of the screen). Search is only performed on 4gtuner.com, the results take you to the google page, but then when you click on one of the results, you are back in the forum. I tested it with the short words - works like a charm and it is very fast too. You can also use the regular google search tricks. Give it a try!

Ah, lame. Least I'm not the only one, then. It is, indeed, very frustrating.

The google search allowing us to search for 3 letter words, is now integrated with the old search box. Click on the drop-down selection box - next to the search field, and select 'Google Site Search'. This eliminates the need to have two separate search boxes for different search types.
