I think everyone knows who I am and how much time I've spent screwing with these cars. I'm not going to spin piles of shit and list every single thing ever done, if you are seriously interested and want to talk about the vehicle - Call me, my numbers at the bottom.
It's a '91 Australian spec E39A VR-4.
It's Burgundy/Maroon.
It has stupidly dark window tints.
I have spent an absolute fortune on it since I bought it.
Laundry List:
* $10k+ Engine. Details on request, built by Computech Automotive (local performance workshop here), tuned at Revzone in Melbourne.
* E3 16g turbo, rebuilt, new hoses & so forth
* ECMLink
Made 163.8kw @ 5500 rpm on its run-in tune w/over 300Nm of torque (4th gear) (~12psi boost)
* BC Coilovers, Whiteline everything underneath and inside (strut/sway/tower/bracing/bushes/camber kits/etc)
* Axis 18x8.5 rims with some serious dish. They're starting to show a little age, brake dust has taken some of the shine off but they still polish up very nicely. KU-36 semi's 225/40/18 (i think), still basically new.
* NEW gearbox & transfer. Completely rebuilt w/OEM parts and E3 improved bits supplied from sheptrans in the USA. Work performed locally by a bloke who's built 3 of these before for me on various VR4's I've had.
* Replaced a bunch of exhaust sections that had worn with age, exhaust is 2.5 inch with a 3inch metalcat cat. Keeps it quieter.
* As new paint, one blemish on rear bar. One crease in bootskin that the panel beater couldn't get out. It was painted in early 2010 and has lived in a shed since.
* Every stupid little thing has been fixed/replaced. Cruise, window switches, mirror switches, rear demister etc etc. I'm OCD and it's been done.
Stuff you get to do:
Gas the AC, otherwise works fine.
Take it back for tuning because run in is finished. (Especially cold start tuning, it's a pig when cold).
Reseal the windscreen, it's brand new but the installer did a shoddy job and it leaks in heavy rainfall. Car lives under a car cover here so no ongoing issues.
Align the headlights (they point down)
The story:
Bought 3 odd years ago (3 in october I think). Drove it a bit, had chronic knock, pulled engine apart found horrible job by previous builder. Started again and did it properly. Suspension was rooted when I got it (I knew this) so replaced with el-cheapo coilovers because I only really cared about stance and wasn't going to track the car. Tyres were replaced for a roadworthy and the stupid HID headlight kit forcibly cut out.
After some blood, sweat and tears (my poor bank account) a fully built motor was inserted which promptly destroyed the gearbox. Fixed that too and took it to get tuned... blew a transfer. Replaced transfer and we are where we are.
I don't have the love for these cars anymore, I spend too much time away from home to even drive my daily let alone a toy car that lives in the shed so make me an offer, ballpark me whatever you want and we'll see what happens.
This car isn't on carsales, it's not getting sold to someone who isn't in the community and I'm not breaking it down for parts. The engine alone is worth over 10 grand, so buy it and do what you like with it.
When you pick it up, you can raid my shed for anything even remotely VR4 related and take that too. I don't even know what I have anymore, 2 spare engines and a bunch of other things currently.
I think I've driven about 6000 kms in this car since I purchased it. I have a bag full of receipts but I don't know what's what and what's in there. You get to keep that too.
Photo's on request only. Car has plates "TEAM4G" in Victoria which are going in my shed. This vehicle is UNREGISTERED and DOES NOT come with a RWC. I will not organise one for you.
You will need to get a permit from vicroads and drive it home or bring a trailer. It starts and drives and I will take you around the block in it should you so wish.
I am chasing around 5k. My investment is obviously far greater than this but it's never driven anymore and deserves better than I'll give it. Ring me up and we'll talk figures after we talk about the car.
