Hi Gents

Can a Jap spec ecu be used in a Aus spec? I've researched a little and found that you need to swap pin 6 and 14 around on the Aus spec harness to use the Jap spec ecu and also their is some issue with the ABS.

Has anyone done this before and maybe have some wiring diagrams off the pinouts on both ecu?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

I've seen that wiring diagram already, so if I just switch pin 6 and 14 around on the harness and plug in the J-Spec ecu it should work fine?

only difference from memory is the secondary throttle control from the Jspec ecu for the Cyclone intake manifold. Other wise same plug etc... although i cant comment on the ABS as non of my cars have ever had it....

Also just cross reference the Jsepc ecu online using its part number, just to check everything is the same ie: VR4-VR4RS which means different injectors 510's vs 450's from memory (someone correct me on this) and ever so slightly different MAF/AFM..

I googled A-Spec pinouts and found through different forums/post that pin 6 and 14 are different but the rest is the same.

I have a wire diagram for a 1G ecu pinout which i think should be the same at the A-Spec (correct me if im wrong)
Pin 6 controls idle position switch and Pin 14 controls the air flow sensor active filter reset.

I can seem to find a pinout for a J-spec ecu, the numbers on the ecu are MD128618 E2T33372. Can any one point me in the right direction please.

I plugged the ecu in today just to see what happened (may be not the right thing to do) but supprise supprise it didnt start but i did notice that the fuel pump stayed on and didnt time out?

What's the reason for swapping ECU's? The ECU that you got... was it tested working before you bought it?
