We had the re run of the washed out jamboree on Saturday and after some extensive modifications to the rear end on the evo it was all ready to go.
1st pass 9.784 @ 144.18
2nd pass 9.69 @ 142.63 :D
3rd pass 9.766 @ 144.18
4th pass 9.823 @143.84
5th pass 9.854 @ 143.82
6th pass and the final in super mod 9.73 @144.34
I red lit in the final, the old cluthc started to creep off the line so I had to let it rip
So im really happy with running 9's all day without any breakages, which I think are a thing of the past now.
Nicks black APC evo ran a 8.84 @164 on low boost then he decided to put the 10 inch slicks on the rear and the boost up and absolutly launched like a champion with a 1.209 60 foot then went to shift into 3rd and the output shaft that the transfer case runs off had twisted in the launch and finaly snapped off. That seems to be the weakest link now, so hopefuly we will come up with a solution.
At the 330 marker he was over 3 thenths in front when we compared it with the 8.80 time card

Great stuff Rob, ohh so close to that PB 8)

Hopefully Nick has eliminated the last of the bugs and can get a clean pass and smash some records :D

Well done APC

Dave

very nice rob!!

what have you done to your driveline to stop it from breaking?

also is the 2.4 looking after you?
what was your pb with the 2.0L?

I have put in a MA70 supra rear cradle(the diff, driveshafts, brakes, suspension ect),this was done at a chassis shop, so its still irs and looks very oem too.The mounting points of the cradle are mounted to the rollcage and has been strengthend. The width of the MA70 was 3mm narrower than the evo :D Its added 40ks of weight to the car but it looks like my driveline worries are over for now :D.
The 2.4 is a good step, but for it to rev to 9800 reliably you need to really do your sums with rod ratios, piston speed ect.
The best with the 2.0 litre was a [email protected] with a 100 shot of gas
and a 9.97@144 without
Im not running the gas with the 2.4 and im quite happy to run 9.7's/9.6's all day without worrying about anything.
I was only running 28psi boost on the weekend and was trapping around 5mph lower than usual, but I think that will do me for a while.

I wonder how long that will last

I think re claiming your record on street tyres will give you a lil added boost to re claim you record, well i at least hope so
