Hi all, does anyone have any knowledge or experience
of the KYB Super-Series Gymkhana shock absorber?
Any input is much appreciated :)

I'm actually considering buying some ....

AJAI has a set (if he hasn't sold them already)

from what i understand, they're exactly the same as KYB AGX's, with the damper adjustability.

Having said that, its probably worth saving the extra dosh and getting some coilovers :smt017

I've got the kyb super streets on my car and i had a look at your set when steve got them in. I really like the shock absorber itself and it has a really good soft and hard ride when you want it. The only drama that Steve and I both had with the super streets is that the back sat at a nice hight but the front sat way up in the air.

I thought that i just had a dodgy pair of springs but steve's were the same. Also, the rear shocks had a shorter travel for the spring to sit in so when I went to raise the ride hight in the rear, standard springs would not fit.

I might look at getting some custom springs made up to get the front to sit level with the rear, or find some other spring that might do the job?

I'm interested to see how your car will sit with those on. I'll see if i can find a pic of mine for you.

Thanks for the great reply VSTHIS. When I get around to
installing them (whenever the hell that is)
I'll post a pic and comment on handling etc.

By the way what size are your rims?
17's I assume.

Yep, they are my Sparco Rally 17x7s.

When you get the shocks up there, I might get you to measure up the spring sizes and amout of travel the shocks have to see if they are the same as mine.

Hi vsthis, I've got the KYB's now. How do I go about
measuring the spring sizes (they're RS-R brand if that helps)
and amount of shock travel?
Is it just basic tape-measure stuff or do I have to take it
to a suspension place to be measured? I'll post the numbers
up as soon as I'm done.

And the rears have the letters
G, S, R, S on a small dial. Does anyone know what they
stand for?

Just the unweighted (off the car) length of the spring from hat to hat and the diameter of the spring at the top and the bottom. Just a tape measure or vernier caliper measurement will be fine.

The settings on mine are 1,2,3,4 with 1 being the softest and 4 being really solid! I'm guessing its Gravel, Snow, Road and Street. Are they the same on the top of the fronts or do they have numbers like mine?
