So I'm pretty annoyed.
Found a leak from what seems like inside the cam belt/ pulley cover.
What annoys me the most, is that the cam seals should have been replace when the head was off and decked.
Looks like oils getting splashed a bit from the alternator belts onto the oil filter housing.

ignore the mud^_^

There's actually quite a bit of oil around the oil pump, new gasket needed perhaps?

haven't done one on a 4g before (done 1j 2j 1g vg and rb motors) but being FWD motor (ie east west) It will be interesting, hopefully someone has done one on here before.

More difficult lol.
First thing you need to do is confirm what's leaking. Remove the top cover, check the cam seals. With oil leaks, always strat from the top and work your way down.
Mitsu crank seals are generally pretty good, so my money is on a damaged cam seal from wrong installation.
Either way, covers off and have a look.

heh,

just went through this drama. degreese everything really good first then let it dry off, go for a quick spin around the block and pull up and have another look. you'll be looking for any sign of wheeping oil around the oil filter and around the crank pulley.

if its around the crank pulley it maybe the front crank seal, which i just did and which basically involves doing a timing belt (i did belts, tensioner, idler, waterpump, seals) its about a two day job if you cruise along.

i still get a little wheep from the oil cooler assembly, still looking for new seals for it, i might need to talk with trav (SIVART)

I would have got my ass RAPED in my old workshop if I took 2 days!

yep, i could probably smash one out in about 4-5 hours, but i work very relaxed while at home. :p

day 1 disassemble and clean, day 2 assemble
