Guys need help! last few days after my regular 5k service, every morning when i start the car oil starts pissing out of the oil filter  ive gone through all different filters already and dunno what to do.

Are you oiling up the o ring before screwing on the filter? if the problem is still occuring after doing that..your housing must be warped or has some obstruction that is causing an incorrect seat with the filter?

you could try some thread sealant of some sort when chucking on your next filter... as the housing for the oil filter is a soft alloy they can be damaged fairly easily by some stooge whom decides to overtighten one... all you are wanting is a 1/4 turn or so past first contact with filter o-ring and housing...

The old rubber seal isn't still on there is it?

It's obvious I know, but I've done it before

You've no idea!

Yesterday one of the guys in the workshop did this on a Honda civic or some shit, he started the car and oil sprayed all over the WRX that was parked next to it and the Territory I was working that was up on the hoist next to that!

Are you sure it is a leak from the oil filter? Seems a really strange thing to happen...

yea its comming from the oil filter. I thought it was rather odd too, it also happened during summer last year but i replaced the filter with another one then it was all fine.

but then it happened again :? i was also thinking it might be the cold weather we are having.... i dunno see how it goes.
