Hi folks,

Iam due to upgrade my big old Mazda MPV and am looking at a Mitsubishi Legnum 8) . I noticed there are some differing models and the one I was looking at is the Legnum Super model however my reasearch shows that that model only had 195kw and not the 206kw.

I like the Super because it has the Recaro interior and sexy red carpets and wild skirting. Who or where can I find correct model information on these cars? because most of the research does not mention anything about the supers. You would think being super that they would have a bit more go to them but it seems they may have less or am I being mis lead.

Anyone got one? any issues.
Cheers

MPV

LOL!

They are one of the most under rated cars I reckon. I have a 2001 model and I really do love the vehicle cause have three kids, However the missues is sick of driving it. She is trying to steal my VR4 regularly.

I like this model because of the amount of cup holders u can never have enough cup holders with kids. And the ability to separate the kids is fantastic however now they are starting to play with nintendo's and psp's so that keeps them quiet.

What is your model?

Cheers

try www.ozvr4.com as it is dedicated to 8th gen Galant/Legnum VR4's. Plenty of info on there

yep good place to get some good info...

1996 - 1998 are pre facelift

1999 - 2000 are facelift

they come in many different models and specification, and there were a whole host of factory options on top of these which makes distinguishing the models sometimes a bit hard.

the one you should be looking at is a Type S facelift manual, with moonroof, roof rails, and recaro interior (recaro interior was a factory option AFAIK).

Steer clear of the semi autos too ... 8)

oh damn 01, i got a 94, and there are no windows at the back unless you get the traveller model, can't believe that was over looked lol..

they're pretty fun cars in the rain though, must admit..

I was reading yesterday there were some face lifts made late 1998. Is this true?

Also the auto/tiptronic gearboxes aren't bad if they don't have massive massive miles on them. People recommended a full transmission oil flush and chucking in quality oil, and adding a bigger oil cooler to prolong the life.

Import it yourself, you'll end up saving $3-5k

I think Series 1[96-98] is 196kw and Series 2[98-00] is 206kw...

Legnum

When you think about it the importers dont really make that much on them do they?

Does anyone know about the electrics on them? if I get one with sat nav/TV will I have to upgrade the firmware or something to be in english and recieve the australian channels?

I really got no idea sorry

Cheers
Bob :D

Don't think anybody has had any success getting the TV to work as the JAP and Australian signals are different, I'm sure if you got an Australian tuner you could hook it up. People do however hook up dvd players..etc to them with no worries.

Some guys on OZVR4.com have a translation disk that converts the Japanese characters to English so you can read the menu's etc..

Seriously man, register for OZVR4.com there is tons of info on legums on there, those guys really know their shit!
