Im considering removing the lifters in my 63 2day to give them a good clean, after i hav removed them and cleaned them do i need a torque wrench to do the bolts back up.

Which bolts? Rover cover are the only bolts I have to undo to do mine.

no once i hav the rocker cover off and the bolts that hold the lifters inplace.
do they need to be done to a certain torque setting.

the rocker gear does have specific torque settings mate

But there is no need to unbolt the rocker gear to remove the lifters.

Follow this guide if you haven't already unbolted the cam caps.
