WHAT?

What a moron....
Why not lock it up from behind and then drill it out from the front?

Lucky it wasn't a set of TE37's or something

that's just dumb... then again; there seem to be lotsa people who get screwed because workshops get too happy using rattle guns...

or just get a standard socket, bash it onto the nut with a hammer, and viola you can undo the locknut, you may sacrifice the socket

GG, why not drill the stud and then put a new stud & wheel lock on?

didnt work for me, was stuck to tight and became round. Titanium drill bit ftw, cost like $50 though for one of them..

I'm assuming they went that far because the stud came loose at the hub and was free spinning (stud and nut).

If they chopped the wheel simply for a misplaced nut, that would be really sad!

Yeah, damn Jax Quickfit...
They killed a locknut on my GGSR with one of those and had to weld something onto it to get it out!
Then again I wouldn't expect them to use a wheel brace everytime, that would be painful considering the amount of cars they would work on.

there is no stud with this design, the bolt itself is the stud, kinda like the reverse of most non European cars.

if you go the link i think it shows the bolt fully removed.

i still think its crazy!
BTW my bro (2MUCH) fixed this exact problem on my GSR about 2 months ago.
except it was 2 nuts not 1.

apparently there was about 9 hours of drilling and nick said there was smoke coming out of the drill!
gotta love how my bro and old man work!

cheers guys!!!

Mate, I wouldn't go to Crap Fix-it-Shit for a million dollars.
I got four new tyres fitted, got home and was able to undo the passenger side rear wheel nuts with my fingers. All the other wheels were over-torqued to fuck.
That's when I learned to make sure it's wheelbrace only.

Grease/lube the thread, put on nut by fingers to feel the thread, zap it with rattle gun, torque it to spec with torque wrench. You'll never have a problem.
