Hey guys,

I installed my brand new turbo yesterday and since driving it, I've noticed that I'm making about 2-3psi less boost than what I was previously with the old turbo.

I've checked all of the clamps on the cooler piping and they're all as tight as they'll go.

Could it be because the turbo is brand new and needs a bit of running in?

Anything else I should look for?

Also, my blow off valve isn't venting... it's set to the lowest spring pressure and I'm still getting compressor surge.

Thanks guys :)

i'm using a bigger t-piece on the wastegate actuator line to the boost control solenoid, could this be the problem?

reason being, it had a crappy plastic one on it before, so i replaced it with a brass one which happens to be larger.

i still can't work out the BOV, there doesnt seem to be any vacuum leaks, hoses seem to be ok.

just got off the phone to rank rotary...

very helpful as always :)

apparently there is subtle differences with every turbo/actuator even if they are the "same" turbos, and cause slightly different spool up characteristics.

this is apparently what will be causing my loss of 2-3 psi.

i need to take the car back and get the map checked and cleaned up on the street (dyno will cause me to sell my remaining nut)

i hate cars, they cost way too much money! especially turbo ones! I want my N/A 1.6L gemini back! :(
