Does anyone know the interchange MAF SENSOR for a 97 HSG
I have a E5T05072 whatever that means but I would like to know if theres any other MAF sensors that I could use?
There's a couple secondhand ones on E-Bay one of them has the number E5T05071, one digit different surely it would work, but I just want confirmation before I waste more money on the wrong part.
Or is there a upgrade MAF I could invest in?

As far as interchangeable goes, just check out the Mitsubishi section of the local wreckers. Check the V6's.
Using a different MAF will likely require different tune to suit Bud.
So, wreckers first mate.

Not sure if he's manual or auto mate. Manual is 787.
I am not near my car at the moment so cannot confirm the other number he is quoting refers to the 787 or not.

HSG is 787 in auto and manual
SSG is 609 from evo 3

787 is better

Anyway, what happened was a rebuild then hard starting cold, so i thought give the sensor a clean, but what happened next was worse, so I thought just replace it.

Details would sound horrible about the cleaning of the MAF....
Just checkbout the local wreckers buddy, Mitsubishi V6 variants (and Hyundai's) from mid 90's onwards. Don't forget the pajeros.
Wish I could be more help mate. Best of hunting.

Yeah mines a auto, and the numbers for the sensor are; 787 and E5T08072, any ideas?
787 is good for auto and manual HSG as I said.
If yours is damaged you're best of chasing late evo models or V6 pajero 3.0 or 3.5 as well as challenger 3.0l V6 around 99 to 02 model just before latest one.

BTW:where're you from mate, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the info, i've tracked a 609 and a 787 but the 609 is $40 bucks and the 787 is $150, I am not even at stage 0 yet so i just want the car to get to work and back at the moment. I still have to buy a wideband o2 and a few gauges before I tune then theres the tranny rebuild. So what would happen if I put in the 609? would the ECU recognise it or would I best just pay the extra and get the 787.
Im from Ipswich

Hard to say mate.
I know that in the bin HSG settings for 787 are different to SSG 609 regarding flow scaling and more important multipliers for calculating air flow.
My suggestion would be go 787 or if your ecu is socketed I can write you a chip to use 609.

cheers

I believe the 055 and 609 are very similar. If so, I can confirm the ecu will not like the change to 609,
I'm with MIO, spend the extra on the 787. I might have a look here in gympie for you. The wreckers here are very friendly and give stuff away like MAF's.
Further, when you upgrade in the future and if you change the ecu to say an Evo 6, the 787 is the same that they use as well.
Cheers bud.
