HI guys,

Seeing I can't find an RS and am sick of waiting, I wanna build a libero. Any Idea how much a evo transplant would cost , engine + drivetrain and everything to make it 4wd and would a standard lancer gearbox fit 4g63.

Any info woould be good.
( wish I didnt sell my 6.5)
 
I know of a front cut and rear cut for sale..

they are after $5000 and are in sydney so add $1000 for freight total $6000...

Buy the car.. around $4000

get someone to do the work.. around $3000

So id say youd be up for around $13000 ?

$17000 is to much i reckon, i could spend another 3 and get a evo.... so many decisions. got money in my hand that i wanna spend , wish this was NZ, would have had many a evo to choose from.

Whats everyone's thoughts of a GTR STAGIA. ( GTR WAGON ) . I know its a nissian an all , but someting different.
 
I've looked into it as well.

From what I have picked up, the libero rear end is a bolt up job (the whole subframe) to the lancer wagon.

So your best bet is to buy a libero rear subframe and a VR4 front cut

but if you want IRS then you might want someone to go to town on it with a welder..

stageas are cool.. very heavy though. it's not really a GTR wagon till you get an autech version, which is big bucks.

yeah there is a black one for sale its a Autech and manual.... looks very toough. and very expensive, they were asking $40000 for it. in brisbane thou , it pisses me off how when ur lookin for a car you dont find anything u want and then as soon as you buy something there's like 5 cars you like .

Making a Libero. I thought about doing this aswell.

Libero rear end is easy. Bring one in from NZ. the Libero doesnt have independant rear so its easier to fix the rear diff up.

Still .. You could probably bring in a libero cheap. Then do a complete transplant into a lancer wagon. But it still will cost you a bit.

I would love a libero.. A factory one.
 
can't find an rs? how much would you pay for your old car? :lol:
i'm going back to school in a few weeks so it may be up for sale if i can't afford to keep it.

AFAIK that car hasnt been around for long.....

I dont know the guy myself, he's up in QLD, I pulled the ad from another site.

I rekon its a bargain for the price, the engine would cost that alone to build up. Needs to loose the eyelids though lol
 
I know him and he hasnt cut any corners at all with the wagon and yes its only been finished not that long ago so the mods and motor would be pretty fresh. good luck Libero = Sleeper :twisted:
