Meek tuning

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Yeah..been there...done that...years ago, they were the thing to do. Not so much these days.
It's a very basic, generic flash tune. Old school as.
Honestly....If you want to get the best out of the car, you can't beat a late model (e6 or higher) ECU upgrade and a proper dyno tune.

I got a Evo 1 2 or 3 and I'm looking at ecmlink, wouldn't have a clue how to tune atm. What is e6? If it's an cp9a ecu I got one but thought can't use with an Evo 3 auto...

E6 = Evo 6
ECU runs the engine not the box.
TCU runs the box as far as I'm aware.

Makes sense, evoscan software is basically free, and ecmlink costs $800 AUD and they do the same thing, there's an entire tutorial on YouTube for evoscan.

Yep...you pay a small fee for the licence..buy the tactrix cable and away you go basically.
The factory ECU is very capable when tuned by someone with experience/knowledge of its capabilities.
Their is also a few posts on here about the wiring swap side of things too.

If you do go ahead with this..another suggestion is a 3 port boost solenoid. Wired in to the ECU, will then give the ECU control of the boost. Set and forget. Stable boost control at it's best.
Popular 3 port is Mac Valve. Can be had for around $80 on Ebay

I'd think about it in a slightly different way - especially if you can't tune it yourself (most people can't!).

Find who a tuner with a good reputation in your area, see what they use/recommend. Then use that product.

Unfortunately the computer is only as good as the guy who sets it up.
