Hey guys, I have an early pre-facelift Galant, and I have just spent the last 15 mins trying to find the OBD port near the fuse box that doesn't exist.

I have found the ports on every other car I have logged with really easily- but this one is a ghost!

I just wanted to be sure (before I pull the trim below the steering wheel apart) that the early VR4's definitely had an OBD port...

Thanks for your help,

dre

Hi Dre, I have a 1988 Jap Spec VR4 and it has the port attached to the fuse box.

Mac

From which way do you plug the plug in mate? The rear? Because there doesn't seem to be a plug on the fuse box on this car!

that's strange... all the vr4/gsr odb ports are in the same place...

long shot but check in the glove box

its not on the end of those wires running under the carpet dre?

or on the other side of the steering column

i would think it is on the end of thoose wires running under the carpet, mine did a similar thing when it broke off the side of the fuse box.

Found it guys! It was those wires under the carpet that have been cable tied to the screw that holds the carpet in??

Kinda weird!

Good thing is that the ECU does log! So I might pull it out to see if it's an eprom ECU or not......
