Had the GSR for two weeks now i've replaced nearly everything but the motor and now the turbo blew..................$#@&!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway just happened to have an eclipse turbo lying around and have nearly finished putting it on. Had to:

Replace oil feed with a steel braided oil line. (Gsr oil line dosent match up)
Extend all coolant lines (And drill out all holes for larger banjo bolts)
Drill out holes on oil return line from turbo
Replace heater fan with slim line fan (eclipse turbo bit bigger than original)
Had to use galant dump pipe and need to replace exhaust flange (galant exhaust flenge is 180 degrees out from GSR one).

Just wondering if this new turbo is going to have any big negative effects on driving the car now, appart from the obvious ie, a little lag

cheers dave :D

ps will have some photos soon

dam my GSR

Got turbo on car now, took it for a run and blew intercooler pipe off (had to push car to danes place).
Still havent got exhuast put back on, gotta take it back to exhaust shop to rotate flange on end of exhaust pipe to mach turbo.
After all that ill see how she goes properly.

cheers dave

This seems like a common problem with turbo cars (intercooler piping) What is the main cause? Not on tight enough or are you actually breaking the hose?

sorted the problem out with the intercooler piping blowin of, txed a heavey duty hose clamp from work, did the trick.
Also got the exhaust redone.
First day after all this and some ******** in a commodore ran me off the road, luckly i saw it coming and managed to brake a little so i blew a tyre but only minor damage to the rim(ie a few scrathes)when i hit a gutter. then he did a runner. Got his number to the cops so hopefully they nail the prick.

cheers dave
