It does have an interesting set of door trims?
I dunno. Maybe my impressions are wrong.

that cant be a monte carlo it must just auto facelift version (engine runs a TD04) with monte carlo door trims?

oh yeah well thats a different type of fabric to the norm but i meant the outside door trims. clearly says monte carlo, which is odd

It looks to me like another one of those weird combos.
I've seen a super VR4 manual, but also seen lots in auto.
I'm pretty sure sure this (schloss silver) colour only came out on Monte Carlo VR4's and maybe AMG galants (is that the same colour as yours barry?)
This car certainly has MC decals on the door, MC wheels, and ECI multi intake. Its missing the parker lights on the front guards, just like this pic, although in this pic theres a vented bonnet.
I'm pretty sure the interior is stock facelift VR4, its just the camera has gone fuzzy, giving it a weird looking pattern/texture. Headrests look different to facelift VR4's though.

yup, im pretty sure this is a genuine MONTE CARLO. Looking through the rest of the brochure that clutz posted up there was also an automatic version. Smaller turbo, 450cc inj, 3.307 final drive etc. (Just confirmed this through CAPS using his VIN)
And im guessing only the manuals had the vented bonnet as it would be the more 'sporty' of the models.
