Motec museum piece ... Check out this 25 year old plus 1st generation screw driver programmable Motec ECU. How things have progressed !! A customer phones up.. Claims he bought a cheap Motec on EBAY. Brings it in for some dyno tuning work. After I pick my self off the floor dumb founded, Customer gets insulted when I say put it back on EBAY !!

I had one of those......was so easy to tune.....which was good because you had to do it every time you drove the car!!! Damn things internal battery would go flat in two days.

you shouldn't have been so harsh on the poor guy would have been better business practice to explain to him that what he had wasn't appropriate for his vehicle and offered some usefull advice.

none the less i too would be amused if someone bought me in a antique pc to work on out of pity i would probably piece together a new system and disguise my bill accordingly

Aahh .. the "poor guy" quickly worked out his bargain wasnt the answer ! His car is now running beautifully on an up to date aftermarket ECU. Every ones happy. Some times ( most ?) you have to cut to the chase when time is tight in business !

Even the old Microtech D5 at least had a cover over its circuit board telling you which screwdriver pot did what. but there was only 5 adjustments, idle , off idle , Mid , Wide open and cold start. bad for economy and driveability.
