Hi all, this is the difference between the moustache bar, non turbo vs turbo. I have 2 of just about everything and was going to take the bar off and reinforce it and keep the other as a spare.

Big difference in the bars, I was surprised at how flimsy the SG n/a one is, 6mm thick but it is pressed. The SSG bar is 8mm thick, not pressed and a larger shape.

It's kind of a bonus for me because instead of buying some steel and having a strengthened bar and a spare, all I have to do is cut up the SG one and weld it to the SSG.

It will ad weight though, a massive 3kg! I'll get some aluminium bushes made while I've got it all apart too

leon r had some pics of his bar bent out of shape after some launches, he reinforced the next one and I figure it's holding up.

I'll post up the pics when it's finished.

This is going downhill real fast!
That happens a lot around here. Once it gets started it just rolls on past like a bus load of midget circus freaks making a porno, and you don't really want to look or participate...........but your name ends up on the credits anyway.

Anyway, the bar is welded up and painted

Getting a turbo bar is not an easy option for me. I looked into "doubler" option (using another bar), but I didn't like the added weight.

So, I used some engineering shape principles and made into a "t bar":

So far, so good, but I haven't had too many launches on the bar. We had one of the snowiest/coldest winter in years, so my van has been off the road.

BTW, this method added about 1.3 kg ;)
