Hey guys,

With the return of the Rumbuck imminent, I was thinking of installing extra sensors to monitor what is happening with my rig.

So, i'm gonna need some info to set thresholds for warnings and such:

1. Gearbox temp sensor: running east west mitsu 5 speed '63 ff box
2. Bell housing temp, to monitor possible burning of clutch
3. Exhaust temp, what is a dangerous level to be cruising at
4. Oil temp, I know I have a temp sensor that shows coolant temp, but oil temp can be a long way from that
5. Fuel temp, more for pure laughs, though could come useful later on
6. Exhaust decibel meter, I would like to be able to show old John Law how loud the ute actually is on a screen, when he goes "thats too loud" I can go "well, if you look here oficer, I peaked at 87.9db and the law says 92, so I am compliant"

Amy other suggestions??

Something like this huh??

Awesome!

Something like this is what I want to make all up to fit to the center of my dash, above my stero and air vents and such, this way I can have all the info I need at a glance, maybe rotated slightly towards the driver so it's easier to read.

Maybe can get all the gauges from the Mack Titan coupled up.

I wish, I'd rather just have the Mack Titan

Or the cessna. How many gauges does a mustering helicopter have in it?

Not enough, always need moar gauges!!!

I believe that there is no such thing as too much information on what the vehicle is doing, and once you get used to standard readings, at a glance you see when something is going wrong. I remember when I first started driving trucks, I was blown away by all the gauges, but after a while you just get used to having all the information there when you need it, and you do notice when a needle starts peaking too high.

We have a 600hp kenworth at work and I admit that when changing the 200t float for the 60t float, I like to go for a quick lap around the site while it is bobtail. Just start off in 9th (1st high). By god it has some muscle....
And full on the Jake down the hill past the workshop. I'm sure it rattles the coffees off the bosses desk. Lol
Now we trucking..

Lol, nice one. Though, can't beat a Western Star, beautiful trucks.

Anyways, does anyone see any problem with having this many gauges??

Do whatever you want, it's your truck er, ute ;)
I think most of us have seen pics of your ute and though I don't like the style, it looks good, and I know that most of the cool cars your way are on a similar theme. But that won't stop me taking the piss when I can. It would be the same if one of us guys showed up in a different style car to your pub, all you guys would be merciless in the piss taking. Lol

Yes and no, once they look under the bonnet a lot of them would agree with the "ooooh!!"
