Greetings,

I've owned this Lancer GSR with an Evo 1 engine for about a month now. Since I've pressed you all for information (and everybody's been a great help) I thought I should introduce myself!

It's all stealth now, the intercooler is painted black and I've fitted some Evo 1 lookalike rims.

It was meant to be a daily driver but it's already become somewhat of a project - recently replaced the clutch in the driveway. NOT fun! It's pretty tight but since I need to have everything perfect I've already done quite a lot of work on it in the month I've owned it!

Specs:
* 1993 CC GSR in charcoal
* Evo 1 engine
* TD05-16G (not sure if it's small or big), running 7 or 15 psi
* GSR gearbox and diff
* Evo 3 front bar
* Mild MP3 player and speakers

Some pics are attached.

Awesome! :D

Can I please have a pic with the clearance between the cooler and the front bar, the cooler and the radiator and your pipework route?

Thanks...

Dane

Hi Dane,

There is not much clearance mate ... It's pretty much between the welded mount where the original grille fits, and at the bottom there is about an inch of clearance between the front bar lip and the intercooler.

I'll grab some pics later on today if I get the chance ;-)

Cool that would be great!

Whats the numbers on your turbo?

We can research them for you.....

You know I thought to write the numbers down but then I didn't ... :roll: I guess if it's an Evo 1 it could either be a big or a small 16G but I suppose it doesn't really matter. I'll see if I can check the numbers from the top without removing anything again.

Here are some pics of the pipe work ... not very clear or indicative though. It's tight in there and difficult to get a good shot.

The turbo is marked 49178.01450. According to the forums its an Evo 1 16G, but whether it's small or big I don't know.

I thought it looked a bit ricey with the Mitsubishi logo and big intercooler so I painted that thing black. Better heat dissipation as well :)

Yep thanks, they were a bit big. I resized them from 3MB but I didn't have any software on hand to lower the resolution.

Do you reckon you could fit 2 slim line fans between the cooler and the radiator or well I should say aircon condensor?

Like the Davies Craig ones? Possibly ... I've got one I could try to fit but it looks pretty tight in there. I could fit another one on the engine side of the radiator since there's no AC fan there. Have no need for it though the car never gets over 2/5 on the temp gauge.

Well the clutch is nice now, goes all the way to the floor :) Just have to fix up the engine vibration ... might chuck a pod filter on, where's a good place to get an adaptor?
