So I grabbed a hold of an FTO/ early EVO steering wheel which I have put on the RVR.
The problem being, is that I not have no horn.
The steering wheel fits fine, and feels much better, but mmm, no horn.

I noted the 4 wires which became 2 in the middle, 2 on either side, ground was screwed onto the metal base of the wheel, but positive was simply a bullet connector.

There is a large hole in the back of the steering wheel, and was thinking of getting some extremely well sheathed and flexible wire to be used for the horn wire, but how would I connect it to the 'push rod' design on my steering column where the boos kit used to spin over to give positive?

Any insight at all appreciated.

Can provide pictures if required.

If you didn't smack me in the head with that tree branch I would help ...

Blahahahah ...

Hmm .. Not really sure on that ... I think best bet would be to look at an aftermarket horn, and see what parts you could get with that... Maybe there may be something you could use in the kit...

Maybe take the wheel off the FTO and see how they do it there .. You may be able to take more parts as well ...

Hahahah, if you got hurt with the tree, you're going to die with the bowling ball.

Re: the FTO, Don't really like mucking around with cars that have airbags, so a bit apprehensive about taking it off to see how it works.

From the looks of it, I'm missing some sort of attachment which goes on the base of the MOMO wheel to make contact with the horn slip, button... thing (wow, technical)

I would have thought it was grounded like a normal wire .. The contact plat would be in the sides of the steering wheel .. Cause that is what you press... Yeah ...

So that is where the metal bit should be that grounds when you hit the horn ... Or did you get the FTO wheel with the horn in the centre ... :?: I can't remember ... Must of been the booze and concussion ... lol ...

The ground is fine, it is contacted out on the backing of the wheel that then grounds through the column itself.
But the positive is what I have the problem with.
There is a pin protruding from the column that should always make contact with the rear of the steering wheel and slide over a metal ring that when the horn button is depressed, causes the short for the horn to then work.
But that pin is not contacting with the wheel, and the positive wire is simply a bullet connector currently disconnected in the steering wheel itself.

I fitted an Evo 7 airbag wheel on mine..I soldered the blue & brown (I think) wires
from the Evo 7 colum airbag onto the rvr colum airbag..My horn is workin'
Cheers !

Should have updated this.
I grabbed the boss kit I had on the car before, removed the contact slip ring and modified it to fit the shaft on the momo.

All works peachy now :)
