Hey all, my name is Andrew.

I have just made the move from RWD turbo 6cyl toyotas (JZA70 supras, Manual gt35r 1jz cressida, 1jz MA61 supra) and nissans (Tomei RB24 T78 OS G... basically everything that could be done to it 200ZR) to 4WD 4cyl , and so far so good.

I now own a Mitsubishi Evo 6.5, its got a few things done to it . I would love to do more to it, but I honestly dont know where to start, ie, what the weakest links are, prices etc. I am hoping that you guys can help me with all that.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum mate  Nice ride

Well depends what sort of hp figure your chasing? what mods do you have done already? Will kinda help with knowing where your at and where to go next :)

Lots of obvious goodies! PP rims, rare front foglight bar, ganadors. Looks nice, clean and tidy mate. As said above, we need to know what you've got to know where your going.
Welcome.

Hey, thanks for the kind words.

Ok, the mods.

Garrett GT30 w/.63 rear
Rigoli Manifold
Turbosmart manual bleed type boost controller :(
Turbosmart Hypergate 45
Alloy Radiator w/ Davies Craig 12inch thermo fan
Remapped ECU??
Full 3inch Xforce exhaust
PP rims
GAB fully adjustable coilovers W/ pillow ball upper mounts
Whiteline sway bars

I think thats all.

Cheers

Nice list you have there already so depending on the size of your wallet will depend how far you go..
These are the things you could do:
Aftermarket ECU..Haltech, Microtech, Autronic...
Cams
Forged rebuild - will allow more boost as with standard internals you'd be limited to about 20psi. Not sure what a standard Evo 6 will withstand but as i understand our older 4G63's are around the 230kw mark? correct me if i'm wrong?
Having the .63 rear housing should spool up close to 4k rpm? which isn't so bad
You could also look at a electronic boost controller

I have been looking at 2.2L bottom ends, there are so many options. I think that with the GT30, some 264deg cams should match fairly well. I've had microtech, and F-con before. From an engineering point of view, i have heard the Haltech is the easiest to get passed ( can anyone else varify?)

At the moment I am on boost at just after 3000RPM. I'm a little worried about what the standard fuel pump can handle. (currently running 16psi)

Obviously I want to keep the price within our atmosphere (ive spent shiteloads on cars, and want this to be a little different.

As far as cam upgrade would go personally i would always go the 272's. Wow just after 3k is good however you would lack higher in the rpm range. All you would need fuel pump wise would be a 500hp Walbro in tank that would handle it no probs at all
I personally use Mircotech, only reason i went with it was the price and never had any problems with them before. :)

Thanks mate, once ive moved house, ill put my nose to the grind stone and start saving. What would you suggest for a bottom end? I would love a power figure similar to yours. Is your car still streetable?

I've stayed 2L just the normal forged bottom end will be more then enough. Yeah i don't drive around on high boost all the time although since the rebuild i've noticed fuel doesn't last as long as it used too :(

sivart i believe is making 280 kws on stock engine..
with a solid tune free of knock i think they can handle alot, getting over 250 awkw would be pretty ridicoulous on the street anyway

hey andrew welcome mate its a top forum

haltech is awsome get the plug and play version

also! go speak to DENSTOJ near number1 sports ground he's done a stroked evo6 with a GT30/76 and he loves it
from what ppl have told me he used a triton crank
