hey ppl i'm still trying to get my hands on a new TD05H turbo.. i've come across something i dont really understand...
i was going to get a TD05H big 16g but then i saw this

20G enhanced EVO3 TD05H

As per above (TD05H 16G) but with 20G compressor wheel.

what would be the difference... is it worth it... their is not much price difference between them...

like i know its got something to do with the wheel spinning... but like will it make more lag? help boost quicker? whats good n whats bad??

Slightly more lag.

They're designed to run between 20 and 27 psi.

They'll make more power generally, but all the bonuses (setbacks) of a larger turbo.

They don't lag as much as a proper TD06H 20g tho due to smaller exhaust housing, but they will lag more than a big16g.

heres a basic run down.. its a TD05H-16G housing. So it runs the 16G front comp cover and also the core and the 070 rear housing. This is the tricky part, the comp cover is machined to fit the 20g wheel in it and its all balanced up etc.. A normal B16g will flow about 550CFM on guestimate a 16/20g hybrid will flow roughly around the 620CFM which is around an extra 50-70hp.. if you get it clipped and ported add another 20 or so hp on that.

However this turb on a 93 i think would be way too lag unless u love driving to around 5-6k everyday.

lol, there's so many people worried about lag these days- thanks JSTYLE!!!

FFS, you own a 4WD- there is no lag when you launch it!!!

Your not going to make any decent power without some sort of lag, and why have a forged engine to run high boost, with a small turbo? Where's the fun in that? You'll have stock engined VR4's leaving you behind with one of those turbos on it!

!

Theres also the fact that its a daily driven road car which means it cant have some 500hp roller hanging off it.. ;)

Yer just strap a 500hp roller on a 1.8 (4g93)... Id love to see how it goes.. I hope the motor atleast revs to 9000rpm above!
Maybe you can demo for us dre ;)

As long as he doesnt use a home made manifold he'll be allright!!!!

Why forge a 4G93t and have a 16g? You may as well do it up, or dont do it at all.

Thats the way i see it......

mmmm meaning??? i am doing it up... its bored out to a 1.9L now with all forged internals... only to make it strong as ever so it dont blow up... if i give it a hard time for hours it will still be fine... not blowing out smoke!...

yes i could have taken the easy way out n put a evo/vr4 motor in... but with these mods u will just have to wait n see!!!

with your engine now you will see easy 11s with that PTE turbo and there not much more lag than a 20g maybe 500rpm if tuned right

well my new rods can handle 9000rpm... but i wouldnt go that hight in them... mmm i wont get 11's thats pushing it to much... i'll struggle to get 12's cause of my gear box... over 7000rpm can get it into 3rd... yes i know what the problem is but cant be stuffed fixing it... i just wanna hurry up n get my car running so i can drive my GSR again...

Thanks with all the help... i'll just stick with the TD05H has enough HP for me

noprobs :D

but I know of a 1.9ltr GSR doing 12.6 with Hiflow TD04, but I dont know what wheel is inside that turbo, he was running between 20-30psi

its a quick enough car on th street, Id be happy anyway

mmmm haveing the 20g wheel on the TD05H will make it have 410HP at 24 psi... mmm now thats good... but then u got the down site... LAG... but their wont be much lag with the set up i'm doing... plus when u launch u dont have lag threw out the whole time... we will see wont be doing it for a few months now...
