FIRST OF ALL - A direct WARNING to people NOT to cause any sh!t on the day or outside OF the courthouse. Be on your BEST behaviour - We, the people of the Hunter need this Motorplex in more ways than one. It's a drag strip, a racing circuit, an events location (like Summernats etc), a venue for driving schools and testing, a round of the V8 supercars series, club event location, concert venue, you name it.... we need it as an alternative to 'busy' Sydney - Rob

Interesting letter attached.

Would be good if some of us could go to the court proceeding if possible I'm going to do my best to be there.

Its at East Maitland Courthouse on this Monday 12th May at 2.30pm.
There is also a site visit at the proposed Motorplex at 10.00am on Monday.
The court proceedings are scheduled to take all week, with a judgment who knows when after that.

Fingers crossed!!!

Please pass this on to all those you may think are interested.

Here is a link to the MG Car Club who are carrying the flag for the venue: http://www.mgcarclub.com.au/htmpages/rngWd/rngWd.htm and I expect a publicly released update soon when the decision is finally made.

With Oran Park closing there leaves only 2 decent tracks in NSW for motorsport use and it doesnt look too good for motor enthusiasts.

The DA has been in the Land and Environment Court for years and from what I have gathered from RTA reps is that they have some major hurdles to cross as far as traffic crossing 3 lanes of 110kmh zone of the Pacific highway is concerned. Something you dont want to have is hundreds of cars towing vehicles on trailers cross 3 lanes of highway from a small side road. There are also several Land and Environment issues that need addressing. Some contingencies were offered but in the long run it will require some major funding from the developer for it to go ahead. If the judge rules in their favour there will be some conditions of course and I dont think they will have the financial capacity to see them through unfortunately.
