Next Cruise??

So a sunday looks good at this stage,

And so everyone can join, another day time cruise shall we? Say, Sorrento or something like that... Pub meal or BBQ if the weather lets us, shoot the shit and head back at a gentle pace....... No retarting round to much on the highways this time, on the Heathcote run someone nearly caused an accident, so lets try and keep our cars on the black stuff huh?

Meet somewhere central like Chaddy, then on to who knows.......

sorrento is ok, but the drive is a little boring......
how about kinglake, or you yangs, or healsville.........
if we do healsville we can have lunch/dinner at the healsville hotel = nice food
otherwise You Yangs have BBQ gear there, and Kinglake has a mega bakery with tasty pies.......

The You Yangs sounds awesome.....

I havent been there for ages...... Nice drive too.... Kinglake is a great bit of road to...... So how about we choose between Kinglake or the You Yangs...... Both are great drives.

i work during the day on saturday and sunday until 6pm can we make it an evening cruise unless anyone else has mondays and tuesdays off?

Hey all, yeah id love to cruise with you guys. Anything after the 17th is fine with me, sat sounds great so does sunday. Actually any day will be fine, just put it up and ill be there :lol:

Ive never even heard of those places before let alone been there. The 'You Yangs'? WTF :?

im keen for a weekend day cruise to one of those places, the 31st? Sounds good!

k, for those who have never heard of such places :wink:

in melways edition 28.....

the you yangs is on page 11 of the key map section (south western)
kinglake is on page 250 of the normal section.......


you yangs has BBQ facilities only, although we could stop on the way there or back.... the best thing bout it is a 12km one way dirt road around the base of the mountain.........

Kinglake has nothing at all really.......... but a good pie shop. The best thing about it is all the roads to get there and back.


in any case, both places would mean a decent days enjoyable drive and back..........

just have to choose one now!

I would put my money on the You Yangs....

As you said before GSRSOL, only a pie shop and Kinglake and the roads are very popular with motorbikes, so they could be a bit crowded on the weekends... Shall we say the You Yangs on the 31st at this stage...?

The dirt road around the mountain is really like a fine sand gravel...... very slippery , plus your car will only get dusty if its dry, not dirty! Lol

the main carpark and to get there is all surfaced anyway.....

will have to be a day cruise but...... anyone who cant make it during the day maybe can meet up on the way back somewhere?? just a suggestion.....

Well,

It looks like dirt roads are not the go with a few people...... Can I suggested a different location? Who has heard of a town called Blackwood, apart from Entaran.....? Well, the freeway drive is about 1 hour, and once you get off the freeway its nothing but nice twisting round with a 100km/h speed rating. At Blackwood there is a BBQ and camping ground with an open fire. So even if its cold we can still keep warm... The other cool thing is that its all sealed road....... But take it from me... The road there is totally awesome.....

I'm going to You Yangs, you can all dodge the potholes on the way to blackwood.
