Here's a nifty little oil filter remover that my brother Mik-e picked up from Big-W for $7 the other day. Makes changing oil filters on the 4G93T's a breeze :D [Yes I know it's Autotechnica!! lol  ]

Actually i was lookin at el cheapo run in oils lol then i decided to look for other lil things while the mrs fuggs around doin her own thing lol

Liberoz, it was $7 from Big-W, apparently Supercheap Auto have them as well. We used it on Angelo's 4G93T and it loosened the oil filter the easiest way ever! No more messy screwdriver and hammer technique

arent oil filters only meant to be on hand tight?

its for getting them off mate

I think he was referring to that they should be easy to remove, as they're supposed to be on till they touch, then 3/4 turn. I've never had a problem removing the filter... worst case i used one of those dodgy strap wrenches and had no issues....

Coz he's a selfish b@stardo and doesnt like to tell us his secrets :p

What else are you keepin from us? :p

Same here, i follow the direction on the oil filter and i've never had a problem, only time was when i has a lube shop do my oil, they overtightened it, but i few extra grunts and i got it with my hands. Although my hands are like vise grips from being an oil rig worker LOL

If they go on hand tight they should come off the same. I never need to use tools.

But that tool does look alot more effective than others.

Then how come you didnt tell us sooner eh?

haha i just bought it from big w when the current oil wrench i had didnt fit due to my dump pipe being in the way

the other type i have uses the socket wrench.. real hassle of a thing but it worked a treat when i had my 87 camry - the filter was in a cnt of a spot

I like mine better, no mucking around adjusting it to fit as it has a spring, you just turn it backwards and it adjusts out to fit most small filters, has two big legs that grip the filter really well. I am a mechanic and use it all day and love it!
