Hi All,

Again my car has problems and it has something to do with my injector pulse, from what the mechanic has told me the injectors has power but wont pulse and it cranks.

Has anyone have any clues?

thanks again

I would be checking the cam/crank angle sensor first.....Does it spark?

next ecu......and MFI relay...

Deffinately check your cam/crank angle sensor module, soujds like a simular prob i had, the module was cracked

Yep, what the guys wrote above.
But on the off chance, are they OEM injectors? has he plugged in and running the OEM resistor pack too? (the rectangle box bolted to the firewall behind the intake manifold).

Yeah they are the oem 510s injectors, ill double check but i think he has.

The problem is i drove it to the mechanics and then a few days later it wouldn't start

no i had a dud tps engine hunted and that had no cel.

but i also had a similar issue when my imobilizer died it had been wired into the cas so i had crank spark but no pulse. again no cel

The mechanic said i could be my imobilizer, but spoke to autoelect and they said they dont usually wire to cut injectors, mine still locks and unlocksand makes all the sounds as normal. But could it still be dead?

How can you check if its wired to cas?

Also whats 'tps'?

tps is throttle position sensor.

my imobilizer had a wire rinning into the engine bay to the cas (back when i had a sohc 1.8) i'll also note when the imobilizer was dead i had no communication to the ecu thats how deep it was wired in.

can you get the ecu read for error codes?

can you hear the mfi relay click when you turn the key between the on/ off positions. do you have a spare cas to test with.

check what the others have said first before you go hunting around other places.

The auto eleccy who told your mechanic that they dont usually wire immobilisers into the injector circuit is a drop-kick and should be slapped about the face with a cold fish

A couple of other things to check which could have been overlooked:
1) Has he plugged the ignition leads in the correct order into the coil packs? Our engines start at number 1 at the timing belt, so looking at the engine from front on will be 4-3-2-1. The coil packs are numbered so you can easily double check. If they have been plugged in an incorrect order it will still spark, but totally be out of sequence so the engine itself wont start and run.
2) Try another ignitor (ignition module) whilst you're at it. See if you can borrow one to try off a GSR/EVO/Proton GTi or Ptoton M21 as they are all the same. Its the black module that sits next to the coil packs. You're saying that its sparking so it really shouldnt be a problem but you never know. Without knowing what things were played wit, whether power was live or disconnected etc whilst getting worked on, it could now be faulty.

Electrical issues are a right coont to diagnose over the net because there can be several variables and causes.

ah k i had a problem with the tps too but i cleaned it with some throttle body cleaner, its worked for now.

yeah im pretty sure i can get error codes, ill double check tho.

I'll try that when i get to my car after the holidays, and no i have no spares to test with. But will have to have a set of spares now :S

Thanks guys for replying

lol damn i thought i had crossed the alarm off the list, alright will have to check these things when i get back to it

cheers again

Update guys, installed new MFI relay and opened to see if both relays click and they work fine.

So this is what we have found

We have spark to all 4 plugs and in the correct order
fuel pump works
MFI relay works
We are missing injector pulse from injector No.2 tested from the ecu
We believe it has something to do with an earthing problem
Alarm works an immobiliser works (if you dont crank in a certain peroid you have to re-arm and disarm)

Any more ideas guys?
I am sourcing CAS, igniters, coil packs, tps to try but I dont see how these could be related
