Hi guys,

Need a bit of help. I'm running a hypertune intake and TB. I'm running without a iacv at the moment, I thought I would be ok since my car is not a DD.

The idle is fine once warm but it is a pain in the butt to cold start. Even with a foot full of pedal it hates to start and is slowly killing my battery.

My question is, is anyone using an aftermarket tb and knows of an easy setup aac, isc, iacv from any type of car? I think ford run a iac setup that looks simple. I run a haltech elite 1500 so once installed I shouldn't have a drama setting idle with any type of valve.

Thanks!

Look for a wire Idle valve. I have a BMW one. You will then need to attach a large enough hose before the throttle plate and at the manifold.

You could try a vac line but it might not be enough air to provide sufficient air. Depends on your setup.

True I'm going off when my brake booster was open my car woukd start and idle from cold. I suppose tune would affect that.

Thanks boys. Yea I think a vacumn valve (ford, Nissan) could be enough for what I'm running. But I'm interested in the wire valve.

Baz are they a 3 wire setup? And also do you have to run a resistor type setup? I know the 4age runs a similar setup from what I can remember

Your haltech will support it. Stock mitsu used as wire Idle valve. 3wires = voltage, signal for valve to open and signal for valve to close. Better control than 2wire.

Who does your tuning?

Oh yea ok thanks again.

Baz ecc in brissy have been tuning the car. They're sending me a new map file today so il plug it in and see if they can help it a little bit until I can sort a valve out.

I'm sure the tuner can suss it out for you.

Looks like haltech use a stepper motor setup inside a housing. Different!

Yea I've got the file once I get a chance il see if they made it any better.

I just had a quick read but it sounds like it's a setup that the rotor boys use.
