Hi guys,
as you might have gleaned from alot of my previous posts i have been having probs with knock.
I had done quite a few things to try and eliminate but all to no lasting effect.
last sunday (after the drive-in 'cruise') i started the car only to find smoke coming out of the engine bay. I popped the hood but couldn't find the source - then the car just stopped dead. :evil:
Anyhoo, had it towed back to tech sport where they found a balance belt wedged under the timing belt cover. This was causing the rubber to burn hence the smoke. (apparently the belt was 1/2 cm too small.)
They replaced it and ever since i have had next to no knock even after upping the boost.
I have noticed a couple of other anomalies.... the battrey is 15.2V at idle and the low fuel trim is around 132%-139%. Now i do have a hacked MAF (which i dont have any compensation for)
