just incase anyone has ever wondered..... "would a haltek e6x run with no o2 sensor?'

it will !

i noticed the other day that the car sounded like it had generated a small exhaust leak.. so i inspect for cracks in the mani & the turbo etc. all looked good... ?

i jump under the car to have a look underneith & notice the nut welded to the exhaust which is supposed to house my o2 sensor is looking rather bare!

car still runs as it did, just prolly running a bit richer . not noticably tho

just curious buddy

are you using a map sensor with your haltec?
or are you running closed loop???

if u are using a map sensor (which i believe you would be) you do not need an o2 sensor and you also do not need a MAF metre...

to use closed loop you need an o2 sensor and a maf

its gotta know how much air goes in, and also how rich / lean its burning in order to calculate..

no air flow metre used = no o2 sensor needed

You don't need a MAF period.

You can run closed loop on a MAP and O2 sensor, without the O2 sensor you should make sure that closed loop is turned off, just incase it is trying to adjust the mixtures without a valid O2 input.

really??

i was going to use my o2 sensor for fuel efficiency but was told that i couldn't...

by doing this.. will it improve anything?

theres no mention of a maf when you go into set up closed loop O2.. i dont think my O2 sensor is connected to the haltech, i did some logging tonight & came up with no signal, so it appears to be driving my pretty autometer guage & not much else :)
